Privacy Policy

Juye Symons ("I", "me") develops Flix (the "App"), a media player for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Flix plays content from providers that you choose and configure. Flix does not supply, sell or host television channels, movies, series, playlists or programme-guide data.
Information the App stores
- Provider accounts: server address, username, password, playlist URL and XMLTV URL. These are stored in your iCloud Keychain, and Apple syncs them between your devices if iCloud Keychain is turned on.
- Library and preferences: Favorites, Watchlist, Viewing History, hidden and pinned categories, and appearance settings. These are stored on your device and may sync through your private iCloud key-value storage.
- Caches: catalogue, programme-guide, artwork, playback and metadata caches, stored only on your device.
I do not run a server that receives any of this data, and I cannot read your private iCloud data.
Flix Membership
Flix Membership is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and the App only reads the subscription's status from the App Store on your device to decide whether to unlock the player. I do not receive your payment details or run a server that records purchases. Apple shares sales and subscription reports with me under Apple's terms, and those reports don't identify you. Purchases, renewals and Restore Purchases go through Apple's App Store.
Network requests
- Your provider credentials and media requests go directly from your device to the provider you selected.
- Playlist and XMLTV URLs are requested directly from the hosts you configured.
- To show movie and series details and artwork, the App sends a title, release year, or TMDB or IMDb identifier to The Movie Database (TMDB) API, and loads artwork from TMDB image servers.
- To show ratings, the App sends a title, release year, or IMDb identifier to the OMDb API.
- No account credentials, personal identifiers or viewing history are sent to TMDB or OMDb.
- Your provider, Apple, TMDB, OMDb and artwork hosts may process network information such as your IP address under their own terms and privacy policies.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The App contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, no developer-operated telemetry and no cross-app tracking. I do not sell personal data.
Retention and deletion
- Deleting an account in the App deletes its Keychain record, its local files and its synced library state. Syncing to other devices may be delayed while they are offline.
- Caches are removed when you delete the account or uninstall the App. TMDB data is cached on your device for up to 30 days and OMDb ratings for up to 24 hours.
This website
This website is hosted by Vercel, which processes your IP address and browser details to serve the pages. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area:
- Legal basis: the App processes your provider details because it needs them to provide its core function.
- Access and deletion: you can view and delete your accounts in the App at any time.
- Portability and control: your data stays on your devices and in your own iCloud account.
- Complaints: you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
